The US Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management team works with
financial sponsors and corporate clients of CIBC to provide
leveraged finance solutions and lending capabilities. Our team
works closely and has significant interaction with CIBC’s other US
and Canadian teams, including Leveraged Finance Investment Banking,
Debt Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and
Bank USA. US Leveraged Finance is part of CIBC Capital Markets. As
an Associate on the US Leveraged Finance Portfolio Management Team,
you will support the execution and onboarding of new sponsor backed
leveraged loans, as well as managing the rapidly growing portfolio
of borrowers. Your responsibilities will include: Assisting in the
execution of leveraged finance transactions including LBOs,
Recapitalizations and Refinancings for new and existing clients
Support the drafting and preparation of cohesive and cogent
pre-screen memos and credit approval packages, including developing
well thought out credit strengths and risks with appropriate
mitigants Providing analytical and structuring support to senior
professionals on the Leveraged Finance team including building cash
flow models, risk rating models and return models Working with
internal partners to onboard new clients to the CIBC platforms
Providing ongoing coverage, advisory, and deal execution support
for corporate issuing clients, in partnership with other CIBC
professionals Collaborating with Investment Banking, Debt Capital
Markets, Global Markets and other product partners to support
borrowers Monitoring and managing a portfolio of borrowers
including providing quarterly, semi-annual and annual portfolio
reviews and enterprise risk reporting How You’ll Succeed:
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and
take initiative. Committed to client satisfaction and able to build
relationships both internally and with clients Highly analytical
and detail oriented Be a team player and mentor to junior members
of the team Willing to work extended hours in a
high-pressure/high-reward environment. Who You Are: Degree educated
3-4 years of experience in leveraged finance, loan underwriting,
investment banking or portfolio management Highly knowledgeable in
credit analysis, and accounting principles Proficient with
Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Strong verbal and written
communication skills Digitally savvy, seeking out innovative
solutions and adapting to new tools and trends. You value

offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an
expected salary range of $150,000-$185,000 for the New York, NY
market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the
position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate
in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which
