Job Description:

and so much more? -Sage Alliance, a New Story School in Boonton, NJ
serving grades 8 through 12, is seeking a qualified Principal to be
responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school as well as
ensuring appropriate long-term planning for each school year. The
Principal provides effective leadership to a team of educators and
clinicians who collaborate in the nurturance of a safe therapeutic
learning community in accordance with the Sage Alliance mission
statement. This is a 12-month position with an anticipated start
date in June 2022.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and Nurture Safe Therapeutic Learning Community: The
Principal serves as the central leader in a community of leaders.
The Principal promotes and maintains open lines of communication,
cultivates an environment of respect, responsibility, and
self-efficacy, fosters positive staff and student relationships and
attitudes, and establishes lines of authority while modeling and
fostering shared leadership and collaboration at all levels of the
school.
- Develop and Co-Coordinate the School Program: The Principal
leads the collaborative development of school goals and objectives
and the planning of the school's instructional program while
collaborating with the Clinical Director as well as Administrators
of other Sage Alliance sites to ensure that the educational and
clinical programs are working in an effective and complementary
manner.
- Implement the School Program: The Principal leads the entire
staff in implementing goals and objectives and interacts and
engages regularly with staff to support them in the effective
performance of their duties. The Principal coordinates with School
District Personnel to oversee the implementation of the
Individualized Education Plan (IEP) for each student.
- Evaluate and Improve the School Program: The Principal leads
the ongoing evaluation of the school program and of staff and
initiates needed improvements. The Principal formally evaluates
staff while modeling and facilitating self-reflective practice for
all staff.
- Oversee Staff & Student Development: The Principal establishes
goals and objectives for staff development in collaboration with
the Administrative Team and leads the local staff development
process. The Principal nurtures the continued growth of staff and
students by modeling continuous self-improvement and elevating
staff and students to pursue their own continuous growth.
- Plan Orientation: The Principal establishes and monitors staff,
student & parent orientation activities in cooperation with the
school leadership team.
- Manage Budget Allocations: The Principal involves the staff in
identifying budget priorities, collaborates with the Director of
Operations in budget preparation and management, and ensures that
the school operates effectively within budget once
established.
- Implement Disciplinary Procedures: The Principal defines and
disseminates information about school disciplinary policies and
procedures to parents, students, staff, and the community and leads
disciplinary interventions.
- Establish Policies, Goals, and Objectives: The Principal
establishes, communicates, and carries out policies, delegates and
accepts responsibility for the completion of tasks, and
communicates program goals, objectives, and policies to the staff
and community.
- Coordinate School Services and Community Resources: The
Principal uses community resources to supplement the school's
program and services.
- Oversee record-keeping & correspondence: The Principal oversees
the completion of records and reports including report cards,
transcripts, and educational summaries.BENEFITSEligible New Story
