Job Description Job Description Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1 year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school setting. This role requires delivering remote interpretation services to support effective communication for Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their families. Responsibilities include: Providing accurate and professional sign language interpretation via telehealth platforms Facilitating communication between students, families, educators, and healthcare providers Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in all interactions Collaborating with school staff to ensure access to educational and health services Qualifications and experience: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting skills Experience with telehealth service delivery preferred Familiarity with educational environments and terminology Ability to manage remote communication technology effectively Strong interpersonal and communication skills Location: Stamford, CT This is a 1099 contract position, offering flexibility in scheduling within a supportive school environment. Appropriate technology and training for telehealth interpretation will be provided to ensure successful service delivery.
