Head Counselor Co-Op Summer Enrichment is a summer program for low income children that emphasizes STEM enrichment alongside camp programming that infuses the joy of summer into all that we do. We are hiring team members who are eager to be a part of a program that emphasizes STEM learning, mentoring connections, and summer fun! What you'll be doing You’re joining a team in a fast paced summer camp environment. Most of what you will be responsible for is listed below but roles and discrete tasks can change. At Co-Op you will do much of these tasks: Serve as a co-leader to a dedicated group of children for a five-week program that serves elementary children grades 1 to 5 Mentor the Assistant Counselor to give direct guidance and instructions for maximum effectiveness Serve as a role model for children by: Arriving on time and fully ready to participate Working as a team member with other counselors, assistant counselors and staff Taking joy in learning new things with the children Supporting a drug free, screen free, healthy environment Assist children to participate in STEM and recreation activities led by educators and recreation assistant coaches Teach or assist during program blocks in a variety of areas such as crafts, nature, science, sports and recreation Participate fully and with enthusiasm in all orientation week training sessions Enforce the highest level of safety for children at all times, including COVID safety protocols Maintain accurate attendance records on a daily basis Be responsible for keeping confidential student emergency data accessible at all times What you bring First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is warm, friendly and values teamwork. REQUIRED PROGRAM DATES & TIMES: June 26, 2023 to August 4, 2023 8:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Wednesday (weekly staff Meeting) *all program start and end times/dates subject to change until program design is complete by June 1st SALARY Base Salary - $2,640 Performance Bonus - up to $500 Re-signing Bonus - $100 for previous Co-Op Counselors if application is submitted before April 1, 2022 Base Salary paid bi-monthly in July and August (3 payments total) All bonus payments paid in the last salary check Reimbursement for Fingerprinting Costs - paid in the last paycheck
