Job Description:

Basic Functions:
Responsible for/conducts/coordinates detailed phases of engineering
work for assigned projects. End-to-end remit for pipeline
innovations, and design renovations. Working with Suppliers /
Development of primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging
Responsibilities:
- Interacts with New Business Development / Customers during tech
transfer and product development project meetings
- Supports overall site performance measures involving packaging
materials and packaging opportunities
- Chairs bi-weekly meeting to ensure that Operations, Customers,
planning, and quality are aligned as to upcoming changes and
modifications
- Heavy Communication directly with customer counterparts and
customer documentation centers
- Evaluates component drawings and specifications to determine
appropriateness for use
- Heavy involvement with site procurement regarding purchasing of
packaging materials to support PD and commercial projects
- Works with customers, packaging component suppliers and site
procurement to identify appropriate primary and secondary labeling
and printed components
- Works with Validation and QA groups during packaging component
qualifications
- Works with packaging department management and mechanics during
packaging line trials
- Writes and revises packaging component specifications and
related department SOPs
- Works with Engineering and mechanics in identification and
selection of new packaging department equipment
- Works with Engineering, Validation and QA during equipment
qualifications
- Supports packaging by troubleshooting or working to resolve
packaging component issue
- Research new packaging materials, particularly sustainable
materials, for both packettes and fitment pouches and secondary
packaging
- Assist and execute package sizing and die line generation using
Autocad
- Coordinate the review of bulk for new programs with Operations,
Engineering and Process Engineering and transfer the information to
the appropriate project management/customer service team
member
- Provide Operations Support Specialist copies of all SDS files
that come through the lab with the customer 4-digit number if
available
- Develops ideas, concepts, and prototypes to solves problems and
meet customer/consumer needs
- Support Operations and Project Management with the planning of
line trials. Oversee packaging and coating lines during pilots,
trials and production to achieve product within specification.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors,
suppliers, plants, sister companies, and other sources of
applicable technologies
- Provide support to Business Development and Sales on projects
in development
- Work with suppliers, Planning and Project management teams to
size out secondary packaging components
- Maintain good records of all customer accounts that are being
worked on to easily retrieve data
- Reviews all bulk specifications and requirements for new Acupac
products.
- Review existing products' packaging and manufacturing to
improve process and/or reduce costs.
- Identifies and interprets variations in product, equipment or
procedures which may affect results.
- Must be familiar with functions and operation of all laboratory
and production equipment in area of responsibility.
- Work with manufacturing and production personnel on problem
products when assigned, record, and report data.
- All other duties assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications:
BS or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of G.M.P.'s, environmental, and safety procedures
Knowledge in Manufacturing Preferred
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple projects
of varying complexity
Excellent project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter, autonomous and demonstrated ability to bring new
unsolicited ideas and solutions to the group
Computer skills - MS Office, CAD preferred, Smartsheet
