Cognizant is seeking an experienced, strategic and highly collaborative individual to lead its global social media marketing team. This role is critical to Cognizant's strategic priorities with a view to influencing, inspiring and impacting others to do things differently. This leader will develop and manage a broad strategy to innovate and set world-class standards for social media marketing. Working to create best-in-class strategies and drive breakthrough creative across social media platforms, the successful candidate will direct all social media activities to help connect with new and existing customers and maximize engagement. The ideal candidate will understand how to use social media to strategically build brands, create attention and generate advocacy on a global scale. They will have a thorough understanding of the capabilities of social media and will develop and implement best-practices, mechanisms and measurement tools to demonstrate the value of social media. The right candidate must be able to work cooperatively with other internal stakeholders across Cognizant, while helping to build the infrastructure to create at a rapid pace and test, deliver, learn and adapt. This leader will be expected to work closely with the brand, media, and PR teams to ensure that social media plans are effectively integrated into brand marketing and paid media efforts, as well as leverage any potential earned and owned media opportunities. The ideal candidate will be a combination of business leader, visionary, inventor, builder and operator and offer a unique blend of creative instincts, social media marketing aptitude, measurement and executive management skills. Key Responsibilities Include:

• Build and execute holistic social media strategy through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
• Oversee company social media accounts
• Regular KPI reporting to integrate and measure the value and impact of our social media marketing efforts and opportunities and demonstrate the value of social media to the wider organization
• Establish repeatable operational methodologies and mechanisms that enable frugal, fast and responsive social content development and distribution
• Work effectively with other groups within Cognizant, especially media, thought leadership, brand, field marketing and communications teams
• Develop engaging, creative, innovative content for regularly scheduled posts, which engage audiences and elevate the brand
• Governance of social media best practices across the company
• Create impactful social media program supporting Cognizant's unique value proposition, tightly aligned with client pain points and opportunities
• Own the creation and delivery of memorable social media strategy documents, social training decks, sales, blog posts and reports to help support the organizations goals
• Evangelize the role of social media marketing in building brand and driving demand

  • 20+ years of experience
  • Expertise in social media strategy and execution for large, well known brands - considerable experience working in a large IT professional services company is ideal
  • Considerable experience in influencing senior executives and driving consensus across multiple stakeholders
  • A track record of finding and developing talent and building high-performing teams
  • Strong interpersonal and team-building capabilities, ability to develop strong trust-based relationships and manage effectively
  • Proven ability to deliver consistently strong, measurable results
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Solid understanding of audiences, objectives and desired outcomes across both organic and paid social executions
  • Ability to innovate - inspired by doing things that haven't been done before, pioneering social media strategy designed to build brands
  • Expert knowledge of all leading social media sites, including their algorithms.
