POSITION SUMMARY :
The Product Manager will play an integral role in Balchem's success
by supporting all product lines for the Powders and Cereal Business
Unit (P&C BU). The position will focus on implementing
short-term and long-term strategic pricing initiatives related to
the P&C BU product line as set by the Sr. Business Director and
Product Manager Director. To accomplish this, the Product Manager
must demonstrate strong leadership skills, be comfortable driving
cross-functional change initiatives, and assist in implementing a
strategic roadmap related to P&C BU initiatives. This
individual will act as a key liaison between Purchasing, Customer
Service and Commercial teams. The role will be responsible for
assisting in driving implementation of commercial pricing
strategies, assist in identifying, prioritizing, and managing
market development activities, develop knowledge base on industry
and segments, and provide internal support to sales team for the
P&C BU.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Understand product category and customer profitability
Provide suggested price based on target price for overall business
while taking into consideration Account Manager price requests
Understand major raw material markets
In conjunction with Purchasing Manager, continually review Balchem
current and forward costs for major raw materials that drive
finished product costs
Develop and distribute formal price letters to Account Manager,
Customer Service and Sales Manager
Enter all formal price letters in Salesforce
Post all pricing into D365 after Customer Service has entered
customer pricing
Provide internal support/information to Sales Team
Helps implement and support commercial strategies to reach annual
budget requirements
Help support marketing programs and business strategies with sales
and technical personnel
Demonstrates flexibility, strong communication skills and ability
to solve problems
Manage Demand Forecast Model
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in a business-related discipline
Preferred 2-3 years of related experience in the food or supplement
industry; market planning and new product development is
preferred
Must demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal
communication skills, as well as strong leadership qualities when
working with cross functional teams
Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of
the organization and external contacts
Effective analysis/problem solving/decision-making skills
Proficient with MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
Organizational skills for efficient office control are
mandatory
Solid decision-making skills
