The Opportunity
Black & Veatch is seeking a Senior Director of Global Talent
Acquisition who plays a key role in supporting company growth by
leading the global talent acquisition program. Successful
candidates will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment
creating and implementing successful talent acquisition strategies
rooted in inclusion and diversity in collaboration with business
leaders. The director will be a global strategic thought partner
who leads the enhancement of the employer brand and elevates the
candidate experience.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Develops and executes talent acquisition strategies for the global
organization by looking holistically at the business strategies
implementing programs and initiatives to ensure recruitment of
talent with the requisite capabilities to achieve business
goals.
Directs a global team of recruiters, sourcers and coordinators to
deliver exceptional results through a collaborative leadership
style that inspires and motivates.
Leads, mentors and trains a high performing team that works with a
sense of urgency and flexibility to meet the changing needs of the
business.
Direct reports include Talent Acquisition Managers, Recruiting
Operations Manager, College Relations Manager and the Global
Sourcing Manager.
Ensures that our competency model is embedded in our global talent
sourcing, selection and assimilation programs so that prospective
new hires are vetted for their technical expertise as well as
leadership behaviors and organizational fit to sustain our
culture.
Drives activities that enhance proactive sourcing efforts,
increases the number of quality recruits through networking,
competitive sourcing, etc.
Provides insights and advice to leaders on employment trends in the
market. Works collaboratively with HR leaders and marketing to
create employment collateral and promotions with the goal to
enhance the employer value proposition through creative
communications utilizing social media such as Linked In and
relevant channels.
Evaluates current media strategy to ensure we are attracting the
best talent through multiple and relevant channels. Leads employer
branding efforts and markets Employee Value Proposition and brand
differentiators to ensure we competitively attract top talent.
Provides leadership oversight to the campus recruitment strategy
and intern program partnering with the business to ensure diversity
is foundational to the program.
Develops relationships with and manages agreements with select
external partners: executive search firms, agencies, pre-employment
vendors, etc.
Provides training to ensure hiring managers globally are
sufficiently trained on the company's behavioral interviewing
process and job competencies in order to produce a consistent
interview experience aimed at identifying the optimal
candidates.
Leverages recruiting analytics and evolving technologies to assess
and improve current strategy to ensure a world-class practice;
takes a data driven approach to decision making that will support a
culture of continuous improvement in processes and
efficiencies.
Ensures compliance of recruiting standards and best in class hiring
practices for team members including but not limited to EEO, OFCCP,
diversity efforts, job postings, etc.
Develops and leads key global talent acquisition initiative(s)
Management Responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience leading a global talent acquisition team
Strong behavioral interviewing skills
Sound knowledge of US employment law and compliance issues; must be
familiar with Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Plan
regulations. Understands how to access and manage global labor
regulations
Strong business acumen; demonstrates willingness to deeply
understand the B&V business; understands the dynamics of
projects and their impact on B&V success; has the ability to
establish and manage external relationships; and the ability to
represent B&V with external constituents. Also understands
business on a global scale.
Strong data analysis and financial acumen; has ability to gather,
synthesize, and interpret operating and financial data and turn
into compelling messages.
Innovative and tech savvy; brings leading edge solutions and
practices that evolves, advances and improves the talent
acquisition function to achieve excellent client-outcomes and
candidate experiences
Collaborative leadership orientation; must be able to build
consensus.
Strong communication skills; must also be able to effectively
communicate technical concepts to executives and general audiences.
Has experience interfacing with and presenting to C-level
executives.
Works with a sense of urgency and strategic purpose. Daily
impatience with an understanding of long-term progress.
Demonstrates 'Connective' thinking with an understanding of how
things work together and avoidance of unintended consequences of
decisions.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree a plus
10+ years progressive HR experience, Experience in the EPC industry
preferred
