agreement. -Position Purpose: -The Senior Technical Director will
provide strategic leadership for the technical support group within
the Northeast region. The role oversees the implementation and
support of the region's asset management, water quality,
engineering, GIS and other technical support. As a member of the
region's Senior Leadership Team, the position collaborates
frequently with other parts of the business to share strategy, best
practices, and resources.Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team while
cultivating individual talents and representing that team on an
executive committee.
- Proven record of setting and executing a strategic vision for a
technical team.
- Apply knowledge of Facilities / Capital Equipment Management,
QA/QC procedures, Safety, Environmental and Process / Operations
Management to provide internal and external customer
solutions.
- Possess the ingenuity and initiative required to coordinate
problem resolution, resolve conflicting priorities and to meet
assignment deadlines within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects to an on-schedule
completion and within budget.
- Demonstrated effective communication, presentation and
interpersonal skills in order to interface with and motivate all
levels of personnel.
- Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater regulations as
issued by the Federal and State regulatory agencies.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete
and easily understood written communications, instructional
presentations, and reports.
- Collaborate with Business Development to oversee the due
diligence process and develop technical strategies for pursuing
proposals and
re-competes.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background:
- 15+ year's progressive experience within operations and
maintenance or engineering industries.
- It is highly desirable to have municipal water and/or
wastewater treatment experience with thorough knowledge of the
methods, techniques, principles, and practices of water and
wastewater treatment, water distribution, water reuse and
wastewater collection.
- It is highly desirable to have hands-on field experience.
- Familiarity with asset management, operation, regulatory
reporting and cost estimating software.
- Knowledge of specific modeling - hydraulic and process modeling
programs is desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and
regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other
Company policies and procedures.
- BS in engineering, with a MS or MBA
preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Must be an effective and proven leader able to form and
motivate effective work teams, and able to win trust of senior
client management.
- Interpersonal skills (e.g. tact/diplomacy, persuasion,
cooperation, ability to motivate others).
- Performance and continuous improvement mindset with proven
track record of setting and achieving ambitious targets.
- Experience in - contract negotiation and management, -
financial budgeting, management and reporting at a project
level.
- Effective problem-solving leader; ability to identify or
develop structures or frameworks to solve complex business problems
or technical challenges.
- Commercial mindset and business acumen; ability to translate
ideas into business cases.
- Strong time and project management skills with demonstrated
ability to manage teams against ambitious deliverables and
timelines.
- Adept at developing project execution plans after thorough
discussion with clients.
- Self-motivated to high performance and ability to work
autonomously.
- Ability to actively participate in public forums to represent
Veolia and enhance community education.
- Develop and promote training opportunities to educate regional
employees on best practices around operations, maintenance, asset
management and water quality topics.Required
Certification/Licenses/Training:
- Valid Driver's license and safe driving record.
- Engineering and/or Operator Certification or other equivalent
confirmation of specialty skills is highly desirable.Physical
Requirements:
- Mobility and ability to travel in excess of 50%
