ACCESS PT is a medical billing company specializing in physical and occupational therapy billing services. We are 100% Physical Therapist owned and operated. This position provides medical billing and collection services for the company's clients. We are looking for a Medical Biller for the Follow-Up team to work Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm. Experience in medical billing and follow-up preferred. This position is on-site at our Administrative Office located in Campbell Hall, NY. Remote opportunities are not available. The pay rate is $17.00/hour.*We are proud to have been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in NY for 6 years including 2021!*Job Description: The Medical Biller - Follow up Team position works closely with the Team Leader of Billing and reports directly to the Supervisor of Billing. Follow Up medical biller is responsible for following up on claims that have not been paid accurately by insurance carriers.This position will include a variety of related task including but not limited to:Review insurance payments for accuracy based on agreed upon fee schedule.Prepare and send appeals for incorrectly denied claimsCorrect rejected claims from clearinghousePost adjustmentsFollow up calls to insurance carriers on insurance outstanding balancesWork closely with the Billing Team and clinics to ensure best practices and consistency.Attend and participate in weekly huddle meetingsAttend and participate in monthly team meetingsAttend and participate in quarterly department meetingsCommunicate with clinics/Partners/Directors regarding patient accountsAvailable to answer patient calls during business hoursFollow-through on patient account issues until resolved.Complete daily action item requirementsAdhere to all HIPAA regulations, maintaining strict confidentialityAdheres to federal regulations and payor policies.Brings any compliance concerns to the attention of their supervisor or the compliance committeeHandles patient payment information according to policy, maintains security at all times.Job Requirements:Discipline - Because it is such a competitive career, you must be driven and self-disciplined, especially if thinking of working from home.Organization - Being organized is essential as this position reviews and analyzes patient files and insurance documents.Detail Oriented - Attention to detail is an important job requirement.Phone Skills - Proper phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills are necessary as phone conversations with patients, clinics and insurance carriers are frequent. Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements:Outstanding interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal skills, relationship building skills and ability to use persuasive communication to effectively work with patients in a cooperative manner in order to improve patient satisfaction. Must have the ability to analyze data for statistics, navigate through the EMR system and work in a fast paced environment.
