Job Description:

Adelphi is seeking the services of a Psychiatrist with at least two years of experience serving people with developmental disabilities. The ideal physician will have an active NY license and must not be on any state or federal list of individuals prohibited from submitting a Medicaid Claim. This provider will offer up to 20 hours/week of services in close consultation with other practitioners in the Monroe, NY-based facility.

Requirements:
--- Active NY license

Responsibilities:
--- Evaluate patients and advise psychiatric treatment.
--- Provide psychiatric assessments based on observations and interactions with the patients.
--- Provide clinically relevant written documentation of findings and treatment recommendations.
--- Provide electronic prescriptions for psychotropic drugs for patients.
--- Mediate admissions of patients to a psychiatric inpatient unit, if necessary.
--- Review prospective patient transfers from the New York State Office of Mental Health.
--- Provide in-service Programs to increase the knowledge of staff providing care and treatment.
--- Assist in writing and filing formula determinations, and prior authorizations.
--- Assist in coverage authorizations and exception requests with patients insurance plans.
