A registered nurse with operating room expertise is needed to provide critical perioperative care in a dynamic surgical environment. This role requires strong clinical skills and the ability to coordinate care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR personnel. Candidates must be prepared to handle a diverse patient population, from neonates to older adults, ensuring patient safety and adherence to high standards throughout the surgical process. Location:This opportunity is based in Paterson, NJ, an urban community with easy access to major transportation routes and amenities. Schedule and Call Requirements: 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Mandatory call rotation: minimum one weekday call per week from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM; maximum two calls per week Weekend on-call required approximately once every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday, 24 hours each day) Call is received via personal cell phone from home; immediate response to call within 30 minutes is required Key Responsibilities: Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure safe, efficient patient care and workflow Supervise and guide OR technicians and staff to maintain unit standards and organization Participate in quality improvement efforts, unit meetings, and ongoing staff education Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards Act as a clinical resource to colleagues Qualifications and Experience: Current and valid state Registered Nurse license Up-to-date Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications (to be maintained) Minimum one year of perioperative nursing experience or equivalent on-the-job training Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) preferred Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred Experience with preoperative and postoperative care This contract assignment offers a challenging and rewarding environment for an experienced OR nurse committed to excellence in patient care.
