This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room with open-heart surgery experience, committed to delivering high-quality perioperative care. The role involves working 8-hour shifts from Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with a mandatory on-call requirement to support patient needs beyond scheduled hours. Qualifications: - Current and valid RN license in the state - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire and maintained - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 30 days of hire and maintained - At least one year of perioperative experience or on-the-job training - Open-heart surgery experience is required - Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Experience in preoperative and postoperative care Responsibilities: - Deliver comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients of all ages, including neonates through older adults - Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure patient safety and effective care coordination - Oversee and guide OR technicians and support personnel in adherence to professional nursing standards - Maintain unit organization and ensure efficient patient flow within the operating room - Comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and participate in performance improvement initiatives - Serve as a resource for staff and participate in ongoing unit meetings and educational in-services - Fulfill mandatory call duties as required Location:Situated in Newark, NJ, this position offers the energetic and diverse environment of a major metropolitan area.
