SPECT/CT imaging equipment under state regulations, ensuring safe
and efficient acquisition and processing of nuclear medicine exams.
Responsibilities include radiation safety compliance, quality
control of instruments, assisting physicians with radioactive
treatments, and proficiency in IV placement. Required
qualifications include relevant licensure and completion of an

Short Description • A Nuclear Medicine Technologist II ability to
operate a PETCT and SPECT/CT unit under the guidelines of the State
of NJ. • Maintains additional licensure to perform CT portion of
the Nuclear Medicine exam with either an X-ray license of a NJDEP
Limited or a Fusion Imaging CT Technology license. • All NM exams
must be acquired and processed safe and efficiently as outlined in
the department procedure manual. All studies must be of optimal
standards. This includes general NM exams along with SPECT/CT and
PETCT imaging. • Is responsible for completing all radiation safety
measures in accordance with the hospital NJDEP Radioactive
materials license. • Performs all quality control measures on all
instrumentation as per manufacturer’s guidelines. • Is able to
assist physicians in radioactive therapeutic treatments in a safe
manner according to Radiation Safety guidelines. • Is proficient in
IV placement for procedures. Experience Required 0-2 years
Completion of clinical training through NM training program or
college requirements Education Requirements HS required Graduate of
an AMA approved program in Nuclear Medicine License/Certification
Requirements ARRT or NMTCB NJDEP – Nuclear Medicine NJDEP
Diagnostic Radiology or NJDEP Limited to Fusion Imaging CT
Technology NJDEP Diagnostic Radiology or NJDEP Limited to Fusion
Imaging CT Technology must be obtained within 6 months of hire
