RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintains orderly and timely flow of specimens to the technical departments to
• expedite the analysis of samples.
• Reviews lab requisitions from physicians for accuracy, completeness, medical necessity, and hospital s ability to perform test and/or route specimen for testing.
• Prepares specimens for analysis, including centrifuging, aliquoting, plating, etc.
• Performs registrations per hospital policy in order to provide assistance to patients and hospital personnel.
• May coordinates the loading of prepared patient samples on the automation lines to ensure

timely sampling (where required by local laboratory needs).

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/equivalent and Phlebotomy experience required.
• Prior clinical experience in a medical setting preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
