  • To ensure effective involvement of families
    • To support a partnership among the schools, parents and the community to improve student academic achievement to build families' capacity for becoming involved in improving their child's academic achievement to encourage families
      • To be actively involved in their child's education at school and to be full partners in their child's education
        • To explain parental choice and ensure families have information to make well-informed decisions for their childrenKnowledge and Skills:
          • Knowledge of instructional practices
            • Experience designing instructional plans for students and parents
              • Experience collaborating with families on assisting students instructionally
                • Ability to research implementation models for school reform initiatives
                  • Leadership and problem-solving abilities
                    • Decision making and organization skills
                      • Ability to work with others in a cooperative and flexible manner
                        • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
                          • Accurate preparation, proofreading and managing of required reports in a timely manner
                            • Exceptional customer service
                              • Strong organizational skills
                                • Ability to maintain confidentiality
                                  • Ability to multi-taskEssential Functions:
                                    • Provides sound management of the day-to-day operations of Title I family and community programs
                                      • Collaborates with school parent liaisons to develop family activities to increase student achievement
                                        • Facilitates the implementation of best practices for family engagement
                                          • Provides formal and informal feedback to parent liaisons regarding individual and program effectiveness
                                            • Serves as the key support resource for strategies for engaging families and federal requirements
                                              • Provides training to parent liaisons on building parent capacity to increase student achievement
                                                • Develops strong formal community relationships to build capacity for families
                                                  • Develops instructional materials for schools, students and parentsMental/Physical Demands:
                                                    • Requires the ability to maintain emotional control under stress
                                                      • Requires lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 30 lbs. and other routine physical activities
                                                        • Ability to hear and see (with correction) at levels to ensure accurate job performance
                                                          • Ability to stand, walk and sit-occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
                                                            • Ability to maintain a professional appearanceRequired Qualifications:
                                                              • Proficient Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication, leadership, planning and
                                                                • organization, public relations (customer service), technology, public speaking, instruction of the adult learner
                                                                  • Valid Certificate in Educational Field
                                                                    • Demonstrated expertise in delivery of professional learning
                                                                      • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
                                                                        • Ability to work comfortably with school staff, parents and the community
                                                                          • Self-motivated and creative - Ability to set goals, establishes weekly and monthly schedules and complete goals on time
                                                                            • Personable, cooperative attitude, ability to motivate and team buildPreferred Qualifications:
                                                                              • Experience working with parent and community groups
                                                                                • Background in public relations, marketing, advertising or similar field
