Sr. Systems Engineer (Boonton, NJ) Client, a fully-integrated solutions provider which designs, develops, qualifies and manufactures innovative systems and sub-systems for the aerospace and defense sectors, is currently hiring a Sr. Systems Engineer. Significant DOORS experience, and Electrical Power Systems experience required. Client prefers a Contract to Hire model. Senior Systems Engineer (Electronics Group) Overview: The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for systems engineering work products such as systems engineering management plans, product requirements, system safety, and reliability analysis and documents. The work products will be produced and maintained in a reasonable time frame in accordance to budgeted hours and schedule. The engineer shall enlist the help of other disciplines and departments when necessary, such as program management, production, supply chain, quality, and finance. Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities: Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, and product assurance to ensure mission success. Evaluates customer/operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, functional requirements and non-functional requirements. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of tools, risk, issues, opportunity management processes. Coordinating the creation of requirements tracing in DOORS. Maintain and improve tracking & reporting of requirements changes by informing program team members in writing. Ensure accuracy of engineering, SDRL, and requirements related documents by review and commenting. Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director, Contracts Administrator, and Program Manager when applicable Manage all duties per ISO 9000: Procedure 4.1 Design Control Contribute to proposals in both technical content and cost estimating as related to power conversion, distribution and control circuits and devices. Communicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to Engineering Manager / Director, Contracts Administrator, and Program Manager when applicable. Manage all duties per ISO 9000: Procedure 4.1 Design Control and/or Procedure 4.2 Software Development Process, as applicable. Qualifications: B.S. in Engineering; Electrical Engineering preferred. Advanced technical degree desirable. Significant DOORS experience, and Electrical Power Systems experience required. 5+ years of experience in Electrical Systems Engineering. Experience in Aerospace Power Systems preferred. Commensurate experience with requirements management tracing in DOOR's Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to; vendors, suppliers, customers, potential job candidates, etc. Highly computer literate, with MS Office/PC expertise, and demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc. Must be a US Citizen.
