Job Summary:
The Sr Demand Planner / Forecaster will be responsible for Omni
Channel Demand Forecasting for all MGI brands at the SKU level.
This will include initial forecasts as well as monthly monitoring
and re-projecting of forecasts based on sales performance with the
goal of exceeding the financial objectives of the division. Has the
ability to develop forecast strategies based on assortment,
promotions and lead-times. This is a great opportunity for an
experienced Demand Planner / Forecaster to leverage their
outstanding analytical and quantitative skills.
Responsibilities:
Partner with VP of Merchandising to ensure understanding of
divisional direction and strategies
Partner with B&M and Ecom Merchants to gather key inputs for
demand forecasting and inventory optimization
Understand and adhere to Supply Chain forecast calendar to ensure
SKU level forecasts are created and loaded in accordance with the
calendar
Create monthly demand forecasts by SKU based on sales budget,
history, trend and promotional cadence. Presents forecasts and
gains alignment from Merchants
Effectively analyze performance vs forecast, articulating needs,
early selling patterns and key data points to drive overall
divisional performance
Create sales / inventory forecasts for new product launches
including analysis of like-products
Ensure new products (phase in / phase out) are properly reflected
in the demand plan
Manage and maintain SKU level demand forecasts across all channels
to ensure demand properly reflects Sales / GM objectives
Foster healthy partnerships with cross-functional teams in
Merchandising, Supply Chain, Demand Planning to drive overall
business strategy
Communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences to drive
results
Drive process enhancements with IT and Reporting/Analysis partners
to improve forecast accuracy
Ability to work in a multi-branded environment
Prepare for and present in business meetings
Requirements
Qualifications:

5+ years' experience in merchandise planning, allocation, financial
analysis, buying or a combination of these areas
Strong financial acumen and statistical/analytical skills including
data retrieval, organization, presentation and summary skills
Prioritizes effectively and adjusts easily to changing demands;
demonstrates strong time management skills
Excellent communication skills including written and verbal with
emphasis on delivery of forecast plans by sku
Provides point of view, influences others through detailed
analysis, factual data, and makes strategic recommendations on
actions to take
Must be detailed oriented, highly organized, flexible and
proactive
Strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication
skills - ability to communicate and build relationships across
different departments & levels of the company
Leads best practices/efficiencies/automations and communicates them
to benefit the entire retail business group
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel
skills
Familiarity with SAP a plus
