About the Role The Head of Operations is responsible for supporting the Director of Operations in the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for Park Attractions and Park Presentation. This role assists with management of park operations for LEGOLAND New York Resort including the quality of our guest experience. Coordinates with all Operating departments to ensure sufficient Duty Management coverage for smooth daily operation of the Park. Compensation for this opportunity starts at $85k/year plus. **Compensation rates dependent upon skillsets and experience related to the opportunity Scope and Responsibilities Project Completion : In conjunction with the Director of Operations, LEGOLAND Development and the project team, gives input to ensure optimal delivery of park content and show programs to exceed guest expectations and excellent Key Performance Indicator outcomes. Operations for LEGOLAND New York : Works along side Director of Operations in ongoing management of all operational areas, including Attractions/Grounds. Helps ensure department objectives are set to meet overall performance standards and operational plan. Provides leadership, direction, and management of MCs who deliver and maintain the company's product and service, making certain guest service and safety standards meet LLNY's standards. Brand & Guest Obsession : Helps drive a divisional culture and strategy of guest first and is relentlessly data-driven in understanding guest needs. Acts as Brand Ambassador internally and externally and safeguards the image and reputation of all attractions across the division. Ensures required improvements and maintenance is undertaken to ensure brand consistency. Oversees training in guest-facing behaviors to drive increases in employee engagement scores. Provides operational support for commercial, marketing, sales, accommodation and promotional activity. Special Events : Oversees the execution and logistics for all events and special activities within the park to ensure these events showcase our park and provide and excellent representation of our product. Operational Leadership : Works directly with OD on operational planning, budgeting and staffing requirements for the division. Responsible for overseeing the recruiting, staffing, training, development, performance management, team building and other people and culture initiatives. Additionally is responsible for managing the operational training requirements to ensure a smooth opening of the park. Professional and Social Skills : Exhibits the ability to work effectively as a team member to contribute to the strategic and cultural direction of the organization. Maintains a guest experience and product presentation focus. Exhibits the ability to work independently and implement operational plan within job scope. Exhibits the organizational and business savvy, and the interpersonal skills, to work effectively in a dynamic organization with international and cultural differences. Safety : HODs are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their department, in line with the Group Policy (HS001). In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees under their management are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated. About You

  • At least 5-7 years of previous leadership and people management skills with an ability to lead, coach and mentor all levels of teammates
  • Prior theme park experience preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple departments at once
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Friendly, outgoing personality
  • Well-groomed appearance
  • Work as part of a team
  • Dependable and Responsible Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit for sustained periods of time to attend on-site and off-site meetings, perform paperwork activities, travel and drive.
  • Intermittent and prolonged standing and walking to move about the park site, and interact with employees of all levels.
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to complete paperwork activities and to use a computer.
  • Visual acuity sufficient to read written materials, to complete paperwork activities, and to drive. Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals in person and by telephone. Work Environment
  • Various inside and outside locations and varying temperatures and floor surfaces. Other Requirements
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends to support park operations.
