Job Description:
The Database Engineer ensures proper functioning of the
company's data infrastructure, data integration process and
business applications & services by designing, maintaining, and
supporting Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS), related
platforms, procedures and ETL processes. Provides database support,
performance evaluation and manages ETL processes, data warehousing
and ensures data security & integrity. The Database Engineer also
provides business application support by evaluating reported
issues, troubleshooting, documenting, solving and/or escalating
incidents to business partners, contractors or software developers,
as necessary. Works with internal business customers to gather
application requirements and provide trusted data sets for business
applications, BI development or to create use cases and/or test
cases.Design best-practice data warehouse solutions that support
business applications, reporting solutions and analysis services
for transactional DWH, ERP, CRM, Training Systems, and other data
systems.FUNCTIONS:o Manage and maintain development, test/QA/UAT,
and production environments.o Support the design, development, and
implementation of dimensional reporting databases.o Perform quality
checks on interfaces, reports, and exports.o Ensure job and
transfer queues are functioning as expectedo Administer any change
requests related to the working project plans to meet agreed
deadlines.o Create efficient data integration solutions using
industry leading ETL toolso Design database maintenance packages to
handle backups, restoration, security, tuning, performance
monitoring, and log shrinking.MUST HAVES:Bachelor's degree in CIS
or Computer Science from an accredited university or equivalent
work experience.o Extensive knowledge of Relational Databases &
Relational Database Management Systemso Extensive knowledge of Data
Warehouse design principleso Extensive knowledge of ETL systems &
processesFive (5) years of experience designing & developing data
management solutions within a Business Data Warehouse environmento
Five (5) years of experience designing and developing SQL Database
Management Solutionso Five (5) years of experience with Microsoft
Visual Studio
