Description
The Research Coordinator has overall responsibility for coordinating the daily activities of clinical research projects at BNBMC, including enrolling patients, managing follow-ups, and assisting in collecting data and following protocols. This position integrates functions in multiple departments including but not limited to lab, radiology, and clinical care. This may include following up data for enrolled patients from outside facilities. The research coordinator will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
Assists in supervising all aspects of clinical research projects at BNBMC.
Responsible for coordinating day to day operations of the program at the unit level.
Assists in identifying and achieving optimal targeted financial outcomes.
Participates in patient recruitment and consent.
Acts as liaison to facilitate communication and collaboration between all care partners (physicians, hospitalists, community care managers, nurses, ancillary services, community resources, etc.)
Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all New Bridge Medical Center policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
Cooperates with external program sources and IRBs based on information received and/or required.
Educates physicians and staff regarding appropriate patient recruitment and follow up.
Evaluates concurrently patients for appropriateness of admission into study and continuation in study.
