Role Overview (2-Month Full-Time Fixed Term) Global Citizen is
seeking a Manager of Social Media to drive content creation and
reporting for Global Citizen social media channels across multiple
platforms. This role reports to the Senior Director/Head of Social
on our Global Marketing Team. This person will have a mandate to
help bring content to life on the platforms where our audience is:
Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and more. They will be
laser-focused on developing engaging, shareable social media
content to reach our audience across our active platforms. This
person will help support the value of social to the entire
organization, and look at every campaign and event in the
organization as an opportunity to flex their creative muscles and
create best-in-class social content across our 7 active social
channels. Key Responsibilities Content Creation Programming Weighed
40% Develop best-in-class, platform-native social content across
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging channels,
aligned with overarching social strategy and campaign objectives.
Produce high-performing, visually compelling content across
evergreen, reactive, and campaign moments, utilizing tools such as
Canva and other creative platforms to deliver polished, on-brand
assets efficiently. Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., generative AI
for ideation, copy refinement, trend analysis, rapid video editing,
caption optimization, and performance insights) to accelerate
content production, increase relevance, and enhance real-time
responsiveness. Draft compelling, platform-optimized copy tailored
to audience behavior and channel best practices. Identify and
capitalize on real-time cultural moments and trends to increase
reach, relevance, and engagement. Provide live-event social
coverage as part of a larger social team during major
organizational moments (global campaigns, activations, and tentpole
events). Own day-to-day programming and publishing cadence across
platforms, ensuring consistency, timeliness, and alignment with
campaign priorities. Maintain a strong understanding of evolving
platform algorithms and adapt content formats accordingly (Reels,
short-form video, carousels, community posts, etc.). Content
Planning Weighed 30% Support the development and execution of
content calendars across all Global Citizen channels, ensuring
alignment with campaign milestones, advocacy priorities, product
launches, and tentpole events. Collaborate cross-functionally with
Audience, Product, Partnerships, Policy, and Creative to translate
organizational priorities into engaging social storytelling.
Contribute to KPI achievement across engagement, audience growth,
acquisition, views, and conversion metrics. Support the development
and execution of social deliverables tied to grants, partnerships,
and sponsorship agreements. Proactively identify new platforms,
formats, and community opportunities to expand Global Citizens
reach, including supporting new channel launches and
experimentation initiatives. Contribute ideas for innovative,
interactive, and community-driven formats that deepen audience
participation and brand affinity Content Auditing Results Reporting
Weighed 30% Track, analyze, and report on social performance
metrics across campaigns, events, and ongoing content streams.
Develop quantitative and qualitative performance analyses to inform
recap decks, board reports, and internal presentations. Conduct
regular content audits to identify trends, engagement patterns,
audience insights, and optimization opportunities, working closely
with the head of Audience strategy. Translate data insights into
actionable recommendations to continuously improve content
performance, storytelling formats, and publishing cadence. Support
a structured test-and-learn approach across formats, posting times,
creative styles, and messaging to improve results over time.
Requirements For Success Education & Experience 47 years of
professional experience as a social media editor, content creator,
or in a similar digital content role. Proven experience developing
dynamic, engaging, platform-native content across multiple social
channels. Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging AI-powered tools
to accelerate content creation, enhance ideation, optimize copy,
analyze performance data, and improve workflow efficiency.
Attributes Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail,

Qualifications Understanding of data tools such as Google
Analytics, Sprout, Later, and more. Ability to analyze data and
work in data tools to create custom reports. Ability to leverage
tools like Asana to track workflows and manage tasks Ability to
work in Canva / Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign to create social
media content. Ability to present confidently to a variety of
audiences and stakeholders More Details Must be authorized for
employment in the United States Global Citizen operates on a hybrid
work model - 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) in our NYC
office and 2 days (Monday & Friday) telecommuting. Salary Range:
