rewarding career. Are you in? Primary Purpose The Senior
Communications Specialist is responsible for planning and executing
external communications programs and activities as needed by the
Communications Manager. The Specialist serves as a point of contact
for external communications and works in or with the business units
to coordinate content, guidelines and implementation, and to ensure
consistent messaging and corporate identity. Responsibilities
include media relations, strategic communications planning,
interaction with advertising/marketing vendors and community
outreach. Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote
flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three
days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). This role is open
to our offices within Philadelphia, PA. You must be able to commute
within our service area to be considered. Primary Duties Ensure
effective communication of company goals and initiatives to
internal and external stakeholders. (25%) Support and participate
in the development and implementation of internal and external
communications programs and initiatives. (25%) Manage a variety of
internal, external and marketing communications tasks to support
leadership, including preparation of a range of communications
publications, talking points, presentations, and other materials.
(20%) Develop strong working relationship with other business
units, local press and community officials, as needed, to implement
community outreach programs. (25%) Coordinate media outreach
initiatives as needed. (5%) Job Scope Directly supports the
Communications Manager, as needed. Position activities are focused
on external communications to customers, media, and external
stakeholders, which support initiatives and projects developed by
corporate communications and business unit organizations for
broader application. Requires significant outreach to internal and
external audiences and development of strong relationships.
Involves proactive communication planning and plan execution,
project leadership and a high level of coordination with other
communication functions within Exelon Corporate Communications.
Requires ability to develop communications strategies. Requires
ability to travel. Works under minimal supervision. Additional
Qualifications/Responsibilities Minimum Qualifications 4-year
relevant degree and 4-7 years' experience in communications (media
relations, corporate communications, or advertising). Proven,
excellent communications skills, both written and interpersonal.
Strong analytical skills. Excellent organizational and presentation
skills. Proven ability to be innovative and creative. Ability to
work autonomously and interface easily with senior business leaders
and the local press. Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in
Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Advertising, or
related field. Energy business/industry knowledge. Benefits Annual
salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications,
experience, and other factors: $78,400.00/Yr. – $107,800.00/Yr.
