Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening
for a dynamic Structural Engineer Lead in our growing Design
Engineering Group. You will be part of our rapidly growing
Infrastructure Facilities Design Department, which includes
architectural, structural, geotechnical, civil, mechanical,
plumbing, fire protection, electrical and is a multi-faceted and
leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical
expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure
related buildings projects.
The successful candidate will help further develop the technical
integrity of the infrastructure facilities and transit design group
in United States and support design efforts in North America. We
are interested in someone who is passionate, self-motivated, and

Kiewit Engineering Group, Inc is a full-service consulting and
engineering firm serving the Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's

This position is based out of the Woodcliff Lake NJ office.
Represent, supervise, and mentor a highly successful regional
team of structural engineering professionals and developers, lead
quality projects for a diversity of public- and private-sector
clients, and work with other leaders across Kiewit to advance the
technical and business applications of the transportation
infrastructure facilities group.
Coordinate different structural building and facility activities
within Kiewits offices and across the company, including
coordination of personnel resources and project pursuits as an
integral member of regional, national, and international leadership
Lead and perform engineering design tasks and coordinate with CADD
teams in developing plans, specifications, and estimates for final
design of train and bus stations, maintenance facilities, and other
related transportation infrastructure facilities.
Develop task scopes, schedules, and budgets for design deliverables
for structural designs.
Identify and understand technical requirements of design projects
and implement engineering principles to develop solutions.
Provide technical reviews at the conceptual and final design stages
of project development
Perform interdisciplinary reviews for coordination with other
design disciplines and compliance with contract documents.
Lead technical meetings and discussions; strategize solutions to
complex or unique technical problems.
Identify technical differentiators and develop schemes for key
Bachelors degree or greater in Structural Engineering
10+ years experience in relevant structural engineering design.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in at least one state.
Strong all-around theoretical knowledge of structural engineering
Experience with the design of multiple building types in concrete
and steel, premanufactured buildings and site features such as
train platforms and pedestrian egress ways, ect.
Experience with Design-Build or other alternative delivery methods,
Experience with seismic design and analysis, preferred.
Experience with North American building design codes (IBC, NFPA,
AISC, AIC, ASCE, ect.)
Experience with structural engineering software such as RISA 3D,
ETABS, STAAD.Pro, ect.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Strong people skills and an ability to work in a multi-disciplinary
Ability to travel as business requires.
